Using Jumper Cables (Winnipeg Auto Repair)

Having a good set of jumper cables in your car is a great idea but if you don't know how to use them, then you're still in trouble if your battery dies.

Remember to keep people and objects away from the batteries during the jump, and don't touch anything other than the terminals with them unless you are grounding one of them to a piece of metal on the vehicle as per the instructions.

Before you start, take a really good look at your battery - if its cracked or leaking- DO NOT attempt to boost it yourself. Doing so, could create an explosion. A damaged battery should always be replaced as quickly as possible.
